Hiro is an old engine from Japan.
History
Hiro lived and worked in Japan for many years and was then sent to Sodor. He was the first steam engine on to arrive on the island. Eventually he started to break down and was later abandoned.
Decades later, Thomas found him and got him restored. Hiro then began working on the Mainland, but he frequently made trips to Sodor and worked there as well. Sometimes he would return to Japan as well.

Hiro was captured along with most of the other Sodor steam engines. He was freed by the 08S.

Hiro attended a meeting at Knapford Station.
Attack of the Assassin
Smudger
After his encounter with Andy, Hiro was seen being repaired in the Sodor Steamworks. He later witnessed Smudger's repairs.
Personal Game
Hiro was seen at Wellsworth Station before Andy arrived. He left when the latter showed up.

Trivia
- Hiro's model was a 2009 Learning Curve model. In Season 4, it will be replaced with a 2013 Mattel model.
